Let It Be Jesus
In the 1970’s, the Beatles released an iconic and quite memorable song called “Let It Be.” If you were to hear it, you’d probably recognize it. It’s just that popular! One of the Beatles had written the song about his mother and the message was simple enough: stop struggling against circumstances and just let it be. For me, a different song has been coming to mind this week. “Let It Be Jesus” is also a simple song with a simple…
Same God
Recently, I was reminded that the characteristics we attribute to God hold true in all seasons, comfortable ones and challenging ones. With so many things happening in our world today, globally and personally, God remains unchanged and is still worthy of our worship. It’s easy to forget the nature of who God is or think He is far, but challenge does not mean the absence of God. Part of the process of Increasing Our Faith is trusting that God is…
Increase Our Faith – Easter (Blood)
Easter is a holy season for the Christian faith, but the reality is most of us do not really know why. The first thing my children asked when preparing for church was, “Will there be an Easter egg hunt?” Just like children, we can sometimes focus on everything that is happening around us and forget the real power and reason of Resurrection Sunday. Most of us know that Jesus died for our sins, but we are unsure of why it…
Every Morning
Lately, I’ve been listening to a song called “Every Morning” by the band Lost & Found. It’s about how God’s mercies are new every morning, and the chorus is based off Lamentations 3:22 – 23: “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” This is a very well known verse in the church that inspired numerous hymns and worship music. However, the context of this…
Jehovah Nissi
In March I had the opportunity to assist in the Kingdom Kids Nissi class. For those of you who don’t know, Nissi is Grades 1-2 class in Kingdom Kids. On this particular day, I got to assist Wes alongside Ben as he taught the class. If you ever want to see a man in his element or as Gabe might say “a fish in water” you should see Wes teach that class. It was like watching curling in the 2026…
Increase Our Faith – New Wineskin
What an amazing way to close Grandparents’ Month by listening to our one and only Patricia Koh. Auntie Pat has walked on her faith journey and has seen God’s faithfulness in the good times and bad. She encourages us to press in and to not hold back. Pressing in today means new wineskin for tomorrow. As Auntie Pat was sharing about LifeSpring’s journey of encountering the Holy Spirit, I couldn’t help but remember a funny Malaysian guy named Joe Chong.…
Rooted and Grounded
Many years ago, Theresa and I had an opportunity to see the Giant Sequoia trees in Yosemite Park. The fact that “giant” is included in the name is no joke! Many of these trees are hundreds of feet tall, and some are so thick they’ve carved a tunnel through the trunk so cars can drive right through. During Pastor Alvin’s message on Sunday, he mentioned these giant redwoods. Something interesting he said is that while these trees are massive, they actually have a surprisingly…
Genuine Love and Genuine Care
It was encouraging to see LifeSpring surround and pray for a member of the church family during our Sunday service who was going through a difficult time in their life, because it directly reflects who we are as a church. LifeSpring is blessed to be a blessing and seeks to have genuine love for God and genuine care for others in the good and the bad. Though it wasn’t a normal occurrence in our service, how the church family chose…
Increase Our Faith – Can You See It? (Part 2)
For Grandparents’ Month, we had the privilege of hearing from a literal and spiritual grandfather of the LifeSpring house, none other than Pastor Alvin. Pastor Alvin spoke, sharing his testimonies, wisdom and glory to God for all His faithfulness over the years. Thank you Pastor Alvin, as you continue to run the race of faith, it inspires us to run alongside you! As Pastor Alvin was sharing (listen to his message here), he shared a picture. It was taken in…
Increase Our Faith: By The Word of Their Testimony
In February, I had a chance to speak at our West-End Campus: Mississauga LifeSpring Christian Fellowship (MLCF). It is always refreshing to get a chance to experience a Sunday Service at MLCF. Before I got up to preach my message, I heard 2-3 testimonies of God’s goodness and what He had been doing in the lives of the people at MLCF. When I heard these testimonies from the pulpit, I couldn’t help but think about how encouraging it is to…
Increase Our Faith – Profitable and Productive
So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.” The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” Luke 17:3-5 On January 18, 2026, Gabe came to speak at MLCF to present LifeSpring’s 2026 Purpose – Increase Our Faith. At first, he was talking about MLCF being the most…
Increase Our Faith – Mississauga LifeSpring Christian Fellowship (MLCF)
Have you had a chance to visit our Mississauga location? If you haven’t, please make it a point to go visit them! I can guarantee that you will be blessed. MLCF is a house of blessings. Every month, we send a pastoral team member to speak at MLCF and every time they report in, they are often well fed and glad that they went. MLCF is built around the faithful. In fact, two of the founders of LifeSpring call MLCF…
