Nameless & Faceless

Nameless & Faceless

We had a wonderful privilege of hearing from the Amecet team this past Sunday. As the LifeSpring family we count it a privilege to partner with Amecet and to be a part of what God is doing in and through them. The message contains sensitive material, so the recording is not posted publicly. If you would like to get a recording of the message, please contact a member of the pastoral team directly.

As the team was speaking the Lord reminded me of a prophetic word that was released over us many years ago. It was a call to be willing to be a nameless and faceless generation. It was a strange word, but one that resonated with me. It was not about our own glory, it was not about promoting our church flag; it was all about glory and honour to the King of Kings, Yahweh.

Every testimony that was shared on Sunday was about God working in the lives of people. All the team had to do was be available. It was a amazing reminder that it is God that does all things. We simply have the privilege to see what He is doing and sometimes be a part of what He is doing.

Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”

Matthew 21:1-3

This Scripture fulfills an Old Testament prophesy that gives another proof that Jesus was indeed the Messiah. This is an amazing moment of confirmation, part of the theological proof of Jesus, and it happens through a nameless and faceless person. Someone lost a donkey that day. We have no idea who. We have no idea if he got the donkey back. We have not idea what they worked as. We have no idea if their husband or wife got mad because they gave away the donkey, but that nameless and faceless person was part of a grand story; part of something God was doing, something that would save the whole world from the sting of death.

We don’t always know what God is up to, but as we listen well and obey quickly, surely we will have the privilege to see what God is doing and maybe even have the honour of being a part of what He is doing.

Being a nameless and faceless generation doesn’t seem very glamorous, but being part of God’s plan is far greater than any accolades or praises this world can give. As a LifeSpring family, let us simply do our part. Whether in front of or behind the scenes. It doesn’t matter. What matters is showing up and being willing to be used by God.

Father God, thank you for being so good. Your ways and your plans are far greater than our ways and our plans. Your thoughts are higher. Help us to submit to You. Your will be done. In the big things and the little things. In the known and the unknown, increase our faith. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
