We had a wonderful privilege of hearing from Mae-Tuin Seto. Mae-Tuin shared that in her time of serving the LifeSpring family, God has been faithful. From little steps of obedience, to breakthrough moments, God has been doing more than she could have ever asked or imagined.
As Mae-Tuin was sharing, the Lord impressed upon my heart her real, raw, and transparent feelings. Mae-Tuin shared pictures and moments of tremendous victories. We see young people while they were just toddlers, becoming young men and women and the leaders of tomorrow. We witness a children’s program with only 4 blossoms to over 45. There are so many moments where God has proved Himself faithful.
Yet in the midst of so many victories, Mae-Tuin shares the genuine and raw emotions/thoughts of wanting to quit. Most days feel sluggish and heavy. Many days we doubt and have no idea if anything is even working. Some days we just want to give up – we question if we are even making a difference.
This is a reality we all truly face. In seeking God and being obedient to what we sense Him saying – it can seem like nothing is going our way and nothing is even happening. Maybe God has asked us to pray for our family and yet family seems to fight more and more. Maybe God has asked us to pray for our workplace and yet it seems to get darker everyday. Maybe God has asked us to move forward, but it seems like 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards. Maybe… maybe… maybe…
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1
That “maybe” really means “increase our faith”. When God speaks His rhema word to you and I, hold onto it for dear life. Because when He speaks, nothing can stop what comes next. No man, no angel, no devil. Nothing. God is in our celebrations, and He is in our struggles. God’s word never returns void.
You may be in a season of struggle, but hold onto what God has spoken. Surrender to His words not this world’s circumstance. His ways are always better than our ways and our ways are always inferior to His ways. God is not just working through you, He is working in you. Trust Him and let Him finish His work.
