Dear LifeSpring Family,
This past Sunday, Dorothy and I joined our MLCF family for the Sunday celebration. Pastor Aoum from Chiang Mai, Thailand, shared a powerful message about the ministry of House of Blessing.
During the service, the Lord brought Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV) to my attention:
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
I found myself asking the Lord to increase my faith and quicken my obedience to continue to Ephesians 2:10 (ESV):
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
It is humbling to know that we were created in Christ Jesus for good works prepared specifically for us. We have the choice to obey God and walk in them—choosing obedience and generosity over fear and stinginess.
The following day, I read a devotion in Our Daily Bread titled “Generous Giving,” based on Deuteronomy 14:28-29 (ESV). The passage discusses tithing so that “the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow… shall come and eat and be filled, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.”
This reminded me of the good works God prepared beforehand for me, specifically regarding the House of Blessings.
What good works has God specially prepared for you to walk in? I encourage you to listen well and obey quickly.
Grace upon grace,
Jerry & Dorothy
