Living with Eternity in Sight?

Living with Eternity in Sight?

Dear LifeSpring Family,

This past Sunday as I prepared to MC and lead Holy Communion for our Sunday Celebration, I reviewed our church’s current scripture memory verses from 1 Timothy 4:7-8.

Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

As I reviewed our scripture memory verses, the Holy Spirit asked me this question: Do you believe in eternal life? In “the life to come”? If so, how do your decisions and activities reflect your beliefs?

I do confess that much of my time, talent, and treasure is spent on the “present life”. My “present life” and “physical training” on earth consume much of my time, talent, and treasure. Yet I am commanded to train in godliness (good devotion to God) for it holds promise for both the present life and the eternal life to come.

How am I investing my time, talent, and treasure in good devotion to God now and in preparation for eternity?

Ask the Holy Spirit to show the gap between what you say you believe and how you live in this “present life”.

Grace upon grace,

Jerry & Dorothy
