Today I would like to highlight a kingdom kidz holy moment. A moment set apart that displayed God’s grace and goodness.
At Kingdom Kidz our Shepherd Amy was leading the kids in worship and MCing the lesson. Midway through the lesson the projector died. We asked the kids to get into their prayer postures and pray for the projector to work. Shepherd Amy rolled with the malfunction of the projector and began to give the kids a description of the lesson in the video. After some time the projector started up again and we proceeded with the rest of the lesson.
Now let me share with you the Holy moment.
The lesson video started with one of the kids in the video making a “bristle box” using wires, a tooth brush and a vibration motor. The kid’s experiment was not panning out as he had thought. The wires were connected but the motor was not working. At that moment the projector stopped working.
When the projector started up again the video continued. Here’s what happened in the video:
Transcript:
Boy: “Everything’s connected. Why isn’t it working? You know what? This is just not
happening today. It’s time for…”
Girl: “Whoa, you’re giving up.”
Boy: “We’re wasting everyone’s time.”
Boy: “We don’t actually have any kind of robotics training, which is why we’re going to squash this whole thing up.”
Girl: ”Stop, please. I recommend that you do not give up.”
Robot: “It appears that you have connected the positive lead to the negative lead and
vice versa. Simply reattach the red wire to the red wire and the black wire to the black wire. Yes, your bots will be off botting before you know it.
Boy: “All right, back in the game. Let’s keep going.”
Girl: “There is a wonderful Bible story about some friends of Jesus who learned to keep going even when things got very difficult.”
God was teaching the lesson in real-time while Shepherd Amy was teaching the lesson. When things were not working out with technology and it seemed like time was being wasted, Shepherd Amy chose to keep going and not give up. She didn’t rely on the video for the lesson because she had already prepared to teach what God had prepared in her heart: The lesson of perseverance when things got difficult.
There was no way that mere humans could orchestrate such a lesson. Guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit, the Bible Story about some friends of Jesus who learned to keep going even when things got very difficult was revealing in real time for all the kingdom kidz to see.
When Gabe MC’d that day he asked us the same question God asked him “Can you see it?”
At first glance I did not but in reflection and with revelation, I was able to see God’s hand in the midst of the challenge.
Reflection:
Lifespring, are there Holy moments that you may have missed during the day or week? Take some time to reflect on where God is and ask yourself “Can you see it?”
In this season of Increasing our Faith, things may get difficult but we must keep going and persevere because Jesus Christ did for us.
