Not for Salvation but from Salvation

Not for Salvation but from Salvation

Dear LifeSpring Family,

A couple of weeks ago during my Bible Study Fellowship meeting, I was reminded of the important lesson in Ephesians 2:8-9:

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (ESV)

It is an absolute truth that we are saved by the grace of God through faith, and not by our own works. However, our teaching leader also included verse 10 in the lesson:

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (ESV)

This served as a powerful reminder that we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works that He prepared for us in advance. I was challenged to increase my faith and ask God to reveal the specific works He has called me to walk in.

LifeSpringers, would you also take a step of faith and ask God what good works He has prepared for you? As we do this, let us remember to act not for salvation, but from salvation.

Grace upon grace,

Jerry & Dorothy
