Your Problems Are Someone Else’s Prayers (Part 2)

Lately, I’ve been coming back to this devo Andrew wrote in 2021, titled “Your Problems Are Someone Else’s Prayers”, where he wrote that “In the context of blessings, I was reminded of how so easily our blessings can be viewed as a curse when we lose our gratitude. What once gave me joy, gives me a headache. What I got excited about, now makes me anxious.”

And to be honest, I was starting to feel the same. I love being able to work and serve in Kingdom Kids, but lately, I’ve been running into different challenges with Kingdom Kids, and was getting a little tired out with it.

I recently got a perspective shift on this at a children’s ministry conference a week ago. In one of the conference workshops, we were split into smaller groups to pray for each other. In my group, one person asked for prayer for new kids to stay in their kids ministry, as there’s not a lot of kids, and another asked for prayer for more people to serve in their kids and youth ministry. After hearing that, I didn’t have much to say but “Honestly, we’re doing pretty well in our kids ministry. Praise the Lord.”

Sure, I have more to do as our classes are a lot larger now and we have more shepherds than ever to coordinate, but some churches don’t even have enough people to run a kids ministry. It really made me appreciate what we have and the fact that we are in a very healthy place right now. Thank you God (and thank you Shepherds)!

May we remember to be grateful for what we have and not lose sight of our blessings in the midst of our problems.

Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
