We have a lot of things to worry about as we enter this season. As a new school year starts up, some of us are caught up in all of the scheduling, the extra curriculars, and the after-school activities. For others, it could be job security, health or finances that take over our thoughts. When our minds are constantly running from one thing to another, we need to make room for God.
We can make room for God by blocking out time in our schedules to spend time with the Lord in prayer, in worship, or by reading the Bible. And we can make room by pausing in our day to clear our thoughts and submit them to Christ, letting Him have a say in what we do. Whether it looks like two minutes of quiet time in the morning before everyone wakes up or listening to worship in the car, allowing God into the busyness of life can change how we respond to the chaos around us.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Matthew 6:33-34
