Dorothy and I recently finished our One Year Chronological Bible reading plan. As we searched for a new plan, we came across “The Bible with Nicky and Pippa Gumbel, Classic Version 2026.” On the first day, Nicky Gumbel discusses the common New Year’s resolutions many of us make and often struggle to maintain.
As children of our heavenly Father, we are reminded that through our Lord Jesus Christ, we have been given “grace upon grace.”
John 1:16–17 (ESV):
For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Reflecting on this truth, let us remember that our Abba Father’s heart is one of grace and love toward us. As we begin 2026, may we walk each day in His grace and love, reflecting Jesus to those around us and within our communities. Be encouraged that we are not just starting a new year, but a new month, a new week, and a new day every morning with our Lord Jesus Christ. Whatever resolutions you may have made, you have many opportunities this year to start each day with Him. I am confident that we will be successful in our journey together.
