For those of you who joined us at the Family Weekend, I believe you now understand why I wrote my grade 8 assignment – the most interesting person you know – on Stephen Hawkins. I chose to write this paper when I was 13 years old. That was 28 years ago and I could write a new paper on him today. For LifeSpring, it felt like he was the right person, for the right time. A man that would encourage us to Increase Our Faith. As a man who doesn’t just teach on faith, but lives by faith on a daily basis – he did not just teach, he imparted, and by the power of the Holy Spirit I pray that we as a church are transformed by it.

One of the themes throughout the entire weekend was the idea that God is bigger than we think. Our level of faith is often what limits God to what He does. Stephen Hawkins pushes us to stretch and increase our faith, no matter where we are at in our journey with the Lord. He did not give us a formula nor a strategy to increase our faith – he simply guided us in stretching what we know because God is beyond our own understanding.
