Kingdom Family – Genuine Love for God and Genuine Care of Others
As a leadership team, we have sought the Lord and felt God put on our heart a cry to “Increase Our Faith”. We believe that God has worked mightily in our midst and that it is time to increase our faith, take that which is so good, and seek God on where and how to give it to the world.
In LifeSpring’s journey of maturity and fruitfulness, the ultimate goal is to bear fruit in the assignment and places God has placed us. Whether that assignment is inside the church walls, in your workplace, in your family, with the marginalized, with people who are against you, even with yourself – whoever you are assigned to – it is time to step into our assignments, planting seeds on new grounds. We are blessed to be a blessing, each in our own unique way, but this season is where God will reveal the next step. Fruitfulness results in more seeds and those seeds need to be sown again. Therefore, our prayer is “Increase Our Faith” as we advance the Kingdom for His Name’s Sake.
This past year, my wife and I had the privilege of going to NYC. It was on this trip I received a very strange email from our Treasurer, Carol. The email was regarding the Greece Mission Team and in this email, it said, “STOP FUNDRAISING”. It was such a unique email, because 95% of our calls and emails are for fundraising needs. It was at this moment that God reminded me of a preacher I had heard early in my ministry walk; The preacher said that “finances is little faith”. I remember vividly thinking and scoffing, “Maybe to you“. To me, finances was big faith.
This year, as the Greece team crunched numbers and prepared their fundraising target, they set it at $10,500. I remember vividly thinking and scoffing, “No problem. We will raise that amount with ease.” There was not a doubt in my mind that the fundraising target would be fully covered.
And the Lord showed me; finances has become little faith.
Finances has become little faith – this means that we are ready for God to take us to the next level; a new level of faith. So, our prayer is “YES, Lord. Increase Our Faith”!
Our sense is that God will begin to release us into our assignments. He will begin to break our hearts, highlight people in our lives, bring about ideas we never thought of before – all to expand His Kingdom. To anchor us in this assignment, we align to what Jesus gave to His mature disciples (huios) on the day of His ascension, the Great Commission:
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18
We will learn together as the LifeSpring Family how to grow in faith. We will encourage each other to be bold in their obedience to the assignments from the King. Most importantly, we will move forward together as a Kingdom Family, picking up those who fall and building each other up to run the race before us.
