Sometimes, life gets busy. We can get so caught up and overwhelmed with work, school, life, and even serving God that we lose sight of God. However, Jesus repeatedly invites us in our busyness to come to Him and rest.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
– Matthew 11:28-30
We can go to God in many ways, be it Bible reading, prayer, worship, etc. One thing I’ve noticed about how Jesus rests is that He would go to a quiet place to pray.
Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.
– Matthew 14:22-23
In prayer, we can bring all our worries, stressors, and burdens to God and ask for His help. In the midst of the busyness of life, let’s remember to take a few minutes to be still, bring our troubles to God in prayer, and receive His rest and comfort.
