The Word Must Go Out

The Word Must Go Out

I lost my Bible. The last time I remember seeing that book was when I brought it to a bible study. I didn’t need to bring it, because everything was digitalized, but I felt compelled to pack it anyway. I didn’t end up using it, but couldn’t find it the next day and panicked.

I didn’t know my Bible meant that much to me, but it was almost 10 years old and had notes and scribbles that couldn’t be replaced; it was personal. As I was mourning the loss of it, I felt the Lord say “The Word must go out”.

All the things the Lord had spoken through His Word were not just for me. They were helpful to me in the moment, but could help others too. Sometimes in our faith, we can make it about ourselves; our salvation, our journey with God. But God didn’t pour into us so that we could keep it to ourselves, but so we can share it with others.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

Jesus commands our faith to be active, not only in receiving it, but in teaching it also. How can we share the things God has pressed into us? How can we live out our faith for someone else?
